so for my upcoming album, it includes a variety of different genres (officially, it's an alternative album) and i was wondering if that's a good thing to include a variety of genres rather than just one.
the album varies from alternative rock to country and electropop.

Good idea. Increases interest because if someone doesn't like one song's genre they might like another song on the album still.
